The Surrogacy Process: Step by Step

First step in making such an important decision to become a surrogate is understanding what surrogacy is and how you will make a difference

When you are ready to start your journey, the first step is to contact us. Completing the short form on the contact page lets us know you are interested. Our caring staff will contact you. Deciding to become a surrogate is a selfless act. The gift you give is life changing for the intended parents you end up working with.

Pre-Screening Process

  1. Complete our welcome packet and the relationship planner(questionnaire)
  2. The agency will request your medical records for review from previous birth(s) and hospital.
  3. The agency will have a private call or video call to get to know more about eachother.
  4. Fill out a criminal back ground check form
  5. Send pictures
  6. Get accepted into our surrogacy program

Matching

You are now approved for match. We will start showing your profile to intended parents. Once you are matched the agency will arrange a video call for the surrogate and the intended parents to have a personable conversation.

Psychological Evaluation

This will happen after match, the agency will arrange for you to meet with a licensed mental health that specialized in surrogacy. Our agency will cover cost of the evaluation.

Medical Screening

The surrogate will be required to undergo series of tests. The screening includes; IVF consultation, blood work, drug screening, and transvaginal ultrasound. Since all IVF clinics are not the same some clinics may suggest a mock cycle to test the endometrium linning before an actual transfer will take place. * Please note travel may be required for medical screening.

Legal

It is required that the surrogate have their own legal representation. The agency will refer the surrogate to a reputable Reproductive attorney to oversee their legal needs. The cost for all legal services are paid by the intended parents.

Start Injectable fertility drugs

Directions and actual start will be translated to you by your  IVF nurse coordinator.

Transfer

Actual procedure can take between 25-45 min. You will be required to rest for 30 min after the procedure and then put on bedrest for 2-3 days. If you are traveling for transfer a hotel will be booked on your behalf to accommodate your bed rest.

Two Week Wait

This is known as the two week wait. You may take a pregnancy test when advised to do so after 10 days, then you will go to the lab for a beta blood test to confirm pregnancy!
